Christmas in July - My Story by Silver

They call me Silver and this is my story. The books, I mean, not this post. It would take too long to tell in a post. Silver's not my real name. It's the name I was given when I was a slave. My real name is Matthew; Matthew Hart. At least, that's the name on my birth certificate. It's not so real to me anymore. It's been a long time since anyone called me that, although my mother keeps slipping up and calling me Matty.

In one way, my life ended just after my twelfth birthday. I walking along the street. I don't know where I was going. Then a big black car appeared from nowhere and screeched to a halt in front of me. The door opened and the next thing I was inside. The people who took me drugged me, beat me, abused me and took everything I was away from me, even my name. At least they thought they had. I don't know why I managed to hold on to my name, even when they were doing so many terrible things to me, to wipe everything from my mind. I'm glad I did because I held on to a lot of things with it.

What happened to me was terrible, but it happens more often than you thing. 800,000 people are snatched, kidnapped, tricked or coerced into slavery every year. Some of them escape but most don't. They live lives of misery right under the noses of people going on with their lives, too blind to see. Maybe they don't want to see. Even when slaves escape they sometimes aren't treated very well. People don't seem to care that the things we're made to do are against our will, that there's nothing we can do about it. The see someone who's been soiled. The things we did disgust them and so do we. I had a lot of problems with that when Social Services tried to take Ben away from us because of it.

My life started again when I first saw River. River is my boyfriend. He's the most wonderful person in world. He saved me. He worked in the place they put me when I came out of the hospital. I was in hospital because the people who took me tried to kill me for falling in love with another slave. His name was David and I loved him very much. Not like I love River, though. Have I mentioned he's the most wonderful person in the world?

He's so patient with me. I'm not the easiest person to live with. I get scared of things, lots of things. People more than anything. People took me. People hurt me. People tried to take away everything I have. People turned their backs on me. Even after I free people have treated me badly. Even River sometimes. He can't help it, though. I've heard him say he'd need the patience of a saint to cope with me. I don't know what it means but it makes me sad. I know he doesn't mean to, but he doesn't understand. There's a part of me that's still in slavery and always will be.

Ariel understands, at least some of it. Better than almost anyone else ever has. Almost anyone. Asher did, but then, he'd been a slave too and he knew what it does to your head, heart and soul. he taught me not to be so afraid all the time. I'm so sad I had to leave him behind. But I didn't leave Ariel behind. Ariel's my best friend. River doesn't like him. He thinks Ariel is childish and makes me childish too when we're together. I suppose he's right. Sometimes we need to be loud and silly and even selfish. We're two whores whose bodies managed to escape. I say bodies because part of us, locked away in our minds, will always be whores.

We don't mind, though, especially Ariel. He's outrageous, an evil little witch who is the most frustrating but kindest person I've ever known. I love him with some of my heart. I can't love him with all of my heart because most of it belongs to River.

Gosh, I said I wasn't going to tell my story and here I am spilling it all out. That's not all of, though, not by a long shot. I haven't told you about Faith, who tried to kill me three times. I haven't told you about Sam and, most importantly, I haven't told you about Asher. You really need to know about Asher and everything he did for me. He's the only person, other than David and River, I've given myself to, body and soul.

Most people think I don't exist other than a character in the wonderful stories my good friend Nephylim writes. Maybe that's true but it sure feels to me that I have a life beyond that. I tell Nephy my stories and she writes them down. She's the only one who hears my voice but I'm pretty sure I exist somewhere. I feel real sometimes, like when I talk to you, through Nephy, like this. Let me tell you a secret. I think Nephy's in love with me. I love her too but the only person I'm in love with is River, and I think Ariel is second on the list.

I should get to the point. Nephy's written my stories for me, wonderfully well if I may say so. So far, she's sharing two books with you, although there's lots more. She hasn't told you about Cam yet, or Kitten. Boy was Kitten a handful. He was a slave too. His master sent him away after a terrible car accident and because of him I - Oops. I almost told you too much. Nephy won't be happy if I give too much away. You'll get to read for yourself when Books III and IV are published. I have lots of adventures in them. River says I attract trouble. Maybe he's right. Ariel says I just attract people who are in trouble because they know I'll help them and take care of them. I think he's righter. That's not a word is it. Ah well, never mind, Nephy isn't going to get to edit this so I can say what I like.

Back to the point. Nephy and my friend Red Haircrow, without whom my stories wouldn't have been told like this, are releasing a Special Edition of Books I and II. In many ways they were the hardest to write because I was still very much a slave then. Only in my own head, but a slave nonetheless. It wasn't until Asher-- No, I won't talk about Asher here. You have to read it.

Nephy's written a special new story for the book. It's about my first Christmas and how confused I was by it. My favourite part was the snow.

Another thing I'm really excited about in the Special Edition is that the wonderful paintings and sketches my friend Maria did are going to be in there. There are some by Nephy too, but Maria's are the best. I'm can't wait to see them in the book. Nephy and Red haven't let me see it yet. I only have one day to wait. The Special Edition is being released tomorrow. I don't think I'll sleep tonight.

The book is only going to be available for one month so you should get it soon. I know you will. You seem nice, not the kind of person to be scared of at all. If you're reading this you must be one of Nephy's friends. She has so many. So...go buy my book. I'm laughing now, because I'm so cheeky. Nephy will kill me!

Happy Christmas in July

Silver.

Oh...I forgot. Nephy will let you know tomorrow where you can get the book from. If you go to the facebook or twitter party you might get to win one. I'm going to be at the party so you'll be able to ask me stuff if you want to.

Christmas in July - Special Omnibus Release

Released 1st July 2013 for ONE MONTH ONLY

On 1st July for one month only revised versions of Enigma I and Enigma II will be available together in a Special Edition. As a special, once of bonus, the Special Edition will contain original artwork and a brand new, unique story 'Silver's First Christmas'.

Since conception, the story of Silver and River has captivated and, some might say, obsessed me. I fell in love with Silver as I wrote him and he's occupied a space in my heart that very few real, let alone fictional people have. He's my Sunshine Boy, my miracle, my window into a different way of looking at the world.

It has been my absolute joy that others have fallen for him too, and I must give special thanks to Maria, whose wonderful paintings and drawings have really brought Silver to life. Much of her work is posted here and there is some very special original artwork contained in the Special Edition.

One lucky person will receive a poster of Silver, signed by me, so they will have a piece of this wonderful person (Silver, not me :) ) to hang on their wall, line their drawers, serve as a dartboard. Although, if anyone throws darts at my love, I WILL track you down :)

The blog tour I ran at the begginning of the month contained a competition and I would remind you that the competition is still open. At present there are three people in the running.

If you have already entered the competition I would suggest you check to ensure you've answered all five of the questions, as you won't be eligible to win unless you have.

The Competition

On each of the following five blogs will be a question. If you answer all five questions correctly you will be entered into a draw. The winner will be announced at the release party on 1st July and will receive not only a free copy of the Special Edition, complete with special features, but also a signed copy original poster of Silver.

The answer to the question can be found in the blog post to which it is attached.

Answers can be posted as a comment on the blog post in question, as a comment on this post or in an email to chakira@hotmail.co.uk. The competition is open from 3rd to 30th June.

Introducing... Pure. New Release by M A Church

Release date: June 12th from Dreamspinner

Blurb:

Zygi Wyatt is an intimidating dom, but he yearns for love just like the next man. However, finding a partner who isn’t scared of his size is no easy task. The easygoing Mo seems like the answer to his prayers.

Love is the stuff of dreams. Ask the god Morpheus—he knows all about it. Mo wants Zygi in a forever kind of way, but he has to be sure of Zygi’s love before he claims him for his mate and reveals his true self.

Unfortunately, Zeus is growing increasingly unhappy with Morpheus, and Ares is determined to throw a monkey wrench into everything. Zygi and Mo will have to brave the wrath of the gods to make their dreams come true.

Excerpt:

ZYGI led Mo into the club and found an open cabana. He sat down and motioned for a waitress. “Been waiting long?”

“I just arrived. Since you weren’t here yet, I waited for you.” Mo bit his lip. “Hope that was okay.”

“Glad you waited. I had a few things to do. Is this cabana good? Or would you prefer to move to Jeff’s? It’s fancier.” The waitress arrived and Zygi held up his hand for her to wait. “What do you want to do?”

Mo’s wide eyes looked around their cabana. “Nicer than this?”

Zygi snorted. “Yeah. He’s the owner, remember?”

“I like this one. Can we stay here?”

“Absolutely. Now, what do you want to drink?” Zygi shrugged. “We’re on my dime, so don’t be afraid to order top shelf if you want.”

Mo shifted in his seat. What in the name of the gods did that mean? He couldn’t see the main bar from here, so how would he know what was on the top shelf? What Zygi said had to mean something other than what he thought. He really wished Cam was with them so he could translate.

Zygi saw the confusion on Mo’s face. There—there was that language barrier that kept popping up. Could he really not know what it meant? “Um, what I mean is if you want a drink, you can order the expensive brands.”

Mo’s eyes lit up. “Can I have a Cherry Coke? Cam got me one at that fast-food place where the girls skated out to your car.”

Zygi stared at Mo, then looked at the equally shocked waitress. “Penny, bring me a Bud and a large Cherry Coke for him—a virgin Cherry Coke, please. Close the door when you leave too.”

“Got it.” She flashed a smiled at Mo before hurrying off.

“So, been meaning to ask you. How did you know what was going down, ah, I mean, what happened between Cam and Jeff?”

Mo lowered his eyes to the table. “Cam told me Brad had been kicked out by his long-time boyfriend, Aaron. He’d shown up on Jeff’s doorstep with some half-baked idea of using Jeff for free room and board until Aaron took him back.”

“Little bastard. Bet Cam didn’t know Brad is an award-winning actor, huh?”

“He found out later, after he and Jeff made up. Jeff said Brad set the stage in an effort to get rid of Cam. It didn’t work, of course, but the resulting argument between Jeff and Cam in the parking lot was something to see, Zygi.”

Zygi frowned—that was his problem. As he’d sat there watching the film, it was like he was seeing it for the first time. He had no real memory of the fight. Jeff and Cam acted like everything was fine and had retired to
Jeff’s penthouse to make up.

Mo chewed his bottom lip as he watched Zygi. This was what he had dreaded. He couldn’t very well tell Zygi the truth, now could he? That Cam, Jeff’s boyfriend—who was really Jeff’s mate—was the legendary Cupid. And that Cupid had a dark side, known as Jealousy, who had made an appearance thanks to Brad showing up. Oh yes, he could just imagine telling Zygi how the god of all gods, Zeus, would have Cupid’s wings if it became public knowledge the gods walked the Earth. If said knowledge got out because Cupid lost control and exposed himself? Well, Morpheus wouldn’t want to be around for the smackdown.

He couldn’t tell Zygi that Jealousy was an ugly creature who was as fearsome as he was dangerous. He also couldn’t divulge that Jealousy—in a fit of rage—might toss around a vehicle or three, in which case he would’ve had to play catch. Mo was relieved he hadn’t had to protect Jeff from Jealousy’s wrath. Somewhere in Jealousy’s twisted mind, there must have been a need or a desire not to hurt Jeff—the creature must have known what Jeff was to him. And finally, there was the issue of who Mo himself was—he wasn’t human either.

Mo twisted a paper napkin the waitress had left as he readied himself to launch into his lie. “Cam called me. He was so mad I could barely understand what he was saying. But I knew something was wrong, so I headed over here. I figured I’d get the story from Jeff. I wasn’t expecting to walk into a shouting match in the parking lot.”

The conversation stopped as the waitress brought their drinks. Mo stirred his Coke, wishing he didn’t have to lie. He wished he hadn’t had to make Zygi sleep through the whole thing. He didn’t want to lie to Zygi about Jeff catching Cam in the parking lot. Nor had he wanted to mess with the cameras in case Zygi tried to watch the argument that never took place. He hadn’t had a choice. How did humans keep all these lies straight? His foray into the human world was turning into a huge pain.

Zygi took a sip of his beer. “It’s just out of character for Jeff to put on that kind of show. He’s usually very controlled.”

“I can tell you now, Cam isn’t. He does try, though. But when he gets mad, everyone around knows it.” Mo shuddered. Boy, was that an understatement.

Zygi shrugged, unconcerned. “I guess love will make you lose your head. Then there was Brad, and that one would make a saint lose his temper. No-good bastard.”

Mo sipped his drink through a straw. Again, he didn’t understand what Zygi meant. “You don’t like Brad much.”

“No. I have no time for liars and users.” Zygi checked his watch and missed the pained look that came into

Mo’s eyes. “Damn, I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun. We better call it a night—I have to work early in the morning. You got a way home?”

“No, I don’t. I don’t have a car.” Mo couldn’t tell Zygi that his normal mode of transportation was to appear in a swirl of smoke.

“Then how did you get over here?” Zygi signed the ticket the waitress had left and stood up.

“Grabbed a taxi.” Mo wanted to scream as he added yet another lie to the growing pile he was knee-deep in already, remembering the remark Zygi had made about liars.

Zygi frowned. “You’re staying with Cam, right?”

“Um, yes.”

Zygi grabbed Mo’s hand and turned to leave the cabana. “I’ll take you home. No point in wasting money on a taxi.”

Mo jerked when Zygi touched him. Once again that tingle raced up his arm. “O-oh, okay, if you’re sure you don’t mind.”

Zygi stopped as he made his way through the crowded dance floor and turned back to face Mo. “Believe me, I don’t do anything I don’t want to do.”

Later nonhuman and science fiction genres captured her attention and drew her into the worlds the authors had created. But always at the back of her mind was the thought that one day, when the kids were older and she had more time, she would write a book.

By sheer chance she stumbled across a gay male romance story on the web and was hooked. A new world opened up and she fell in love. Thus the journey started. When not writing or researching, she enjoys reading the latest erotic and mainstream romance novels.

Wednesday Flash - In the Arms of an Angel - Is This The End

Another week has gone by and a lot has happened. For one thing, I've launched my Christmas in July promotion. If you haven't checked it out yet then take a look here and join the fun. There's a fab competition to with the Enigma Omnibus and a poster of my beloved Silver.

So, this week I chose a beautiful photo prompt to introduce a new character and re introduce an old one.

Gabri’el raised his hand and one of the angels detached from the Host and rode forward. He was a big man, with wide shoulders and a square jaw. Raven hair streamed from under his helmet as he rode. His eyes, when he was near enough to see them, were kind.

“Range out in ranks of three, wait for my mark and then we ride.”

“What?” Pasha asked in surprise. But, we can’t all fit through the waterfall, not spread out. Shouldn’t they be in single file?”

“Trust me, Pasha, where the Host wishes to go, the Host goes. No door is closed to us.”

“Are we doing the…thing, again?”

“We’re doing something,” Gabri’el said with a smile. He nodded at the soldier who inclined his head, then rode back to the ranks.

“Are you ready?” Gabri’el asked.

Pasha considered. Was he? He raised his eyes to the distant waterfall. The lake reflected the trees and sky and glittered with diamonds where the occasional fish broke the surface. Far across the water the cascade tumbled, broken by rocks on the lip into four separate streams.

Everything was still and silent. Except inside his head. Inside his head the screaming went on and on. Then suddenly it stopped.

Pasha’s head jerked up and met Gabri’el’s eyes. Gabri’el looked as startled as he was.

“What’s happened?”

“I don’t know.”

“Something has happened, though, hasn’t it?”

“Yes.”

“What should we do? Should we go forward or wait.”

Gabri’el looked around. “I have a feeling something’s coming. We wait.”

Pasha’s heart started to pound and his mouth went dry. He had a horrible feeling something bad had happened and something worse was about to. The minutes stretched interminably and Pasha started to feel weak and edgy.

The jangle of harness had both heads turning. The same man Gabri’el had spoken to before was riding forward.

“My Lord, something is coming.”

“Coming? Coming where?”

“Through the gate, My Lord.

“The gate? But, only the Host can pass through the gate.”

“Apparently not. It approaches. What would you have us do?”

“Watch. Wait. If you sense a threat, act.”

“Yes, My Lord.”

Again the minutes stretched until a strange, flutelike call rose from the trees.

“What was that?”

“It sounds like Frosty. But it can’t….”

Before he could continue a ball of glittering whiteness rose from the trees and shot towards them. It landed on the grass a few feet away from Gabri’el’s horse and gave the same eerie cry. It was a beautiful white peacock. She raised her head majestically and shook out her plumage. Tiny frost crystals and snowflakes fell from the feathers.

“I bear a message,” she said, “from my brother.”

“Fierro?”

The peacock, bent her neck and two perfect crystals fell from her eyes. “When he learned of what happened to My Lord, Uzzi’el he travelled to Eden, but was already too late. It seems he arrived as the Host left the city and he went straight to My Lord’s side. He was there when….” The snowy head bowed lower. “He was there for the end.”

Panic grabbed Pasha’s heart and squeezed the life out of him. “The end of what?” he asked, his voice shaking almost uncontrollably.

The regal peacock raised her head and shook out her feathers again, scattering more ice and snow over the grass around her.

“You are Passa’el, his mate. I mourn your loss, and mine. My Lord, Uzzi’el was kind and brave; a good soldier and a good man. Fierro is distraught.”

“Is he…? Is he sure? There’s no doubt?” Gabri’el asked, his voice almost as shaky as Pasha’s.

“There is no doubt. My Lord, Uzzi’el is dead. He passed minutes ago. I came as swiftly as I could.”

“My Lord.” The soldier interrupted. “There has been another breach of the gate.”

Pasha could barely raise the energy to lift his head and was unsurprised when the sputtering ball of electricity that was Fierro the phoenix appeared. He shot through the sky like a fireball and almost knocked Pasha off his horse.

“It was terrible. My heart was torn from my body and I am nothing more than an empty shell. He didn’t die alone, My Lord,” the phoenix continued with undisguised accusation in his tone. “I was with him, at least.”

“Fierro, My Lords, Passa’el and Gabri’el are here seeking to save My Lord Uzzi’el. What would you have had them do? Sit at his side and simply wait for his death?”

The chilly tones calmed the over excited ball of fiery feathers and Fierro sniffed. “I tried to warm him Lords. He was so cold. I tried to warm him, but there was nothing I could do. I called to him but he was so far away. And then he opened his eyes and I hoped….” The phoenix sniffed and tiny discharges of electricity stung Pasha’s skin and made his hair stand on end. “He said. ‘Tell them. Tell them to go on’, and then he was gone. I tried to breathe life back into his body, to shock his heart to beat again, but there was nothing I could do.”

“He told you he wanted us to go on?”

“How can I go on?” Pasha asked, feeling numb. “I have to go back. I have to….”

“And then what?” Gabri’el was sitting tall in the saddle, his eyes blazing. “Sit with a dead body and mourn while his murderer goes unpunished? I will not go back until I hold his still beating heart in my hand.”

“Vengeance,” Fierro said.

“Vengeance,” Frosty repeated, her voice like a blast of icy wind.

“Vengeance.” The Host called with one voice.

Pasha looked around and knew every soul there was crying out in pain for justice and to avenge Uzzi’el. A surge of energy shot through him and his grief was swept aside as he raised his head and poured the agony of his tormented soul into one word. “Vengeance.”

And now move on to read the other wonderful writers who are kind enough to flash for you. Please be kind back and leave a comment, it's what writers live for, you know

Yellow Rope - New Release by M A Church

The Yellow Rope

What are the three words that can get the heart thumping, send blood pressure though the roof, and make the very breath in your chest freeze? That can make a grown person yell with unabashed joy, have their hands shake with excitement, and bring tears to their eyes in relief? What are three little words that are worth their weight in gold?

That’s right… a long weekend.
* * * *

Hey everyone! *laugh* Those three little words are some of the most important in our vocabulary, aren’t they? I no longer work, but when I did… I lived for three-day weekends. Yes, yes, I had summers off because I taught, but those weekends made the other ten months somewhat bearable.

This story is about life getting in the way of a relationship and two men who refuse to continue to let that happen. It’s about reconnecting and the joy of finding themselves once again and meeting their needs. And yes, there is humor, lol.

Sometimes, a three-day weekend can be a life savior, lol.

Release date: June 1st

Blurb:

A cranky submissive...

Luke Walker is tired. He spends long hours between his job as a teacher assistant at an elementary school and helping out his family at their restaurant. Coupled with the fact that his degree is going to waste, he’s discouraged and fatigued by too much work and endless southern heat, and not enough time spent with his live-in partner.

An understanding Dom...

Gage Holt has been on both sides of the fence. He believes that in order to be a good Dom, one has to understand being a sub. Unfortunately, he’s had some bad experiences in pursuit of that knowledge, and suffered a great deal. But that’s in the past now.

A long weekend...

Three little days... Gage is determined to see that his man gets what he needs in every way he can give it to him. Anything to remove the dark circles from beneath his beautiful eyes. For the next seventy-two hours, he’s going to pamper his boy—in his way. He’ll fight a bull that hates him, battle with a crusty old woman at a gift shop who snubs him, and deal with the never-ending lack of money just to bring the shine back to
Luke’s eyes.

Luke will relax and have some fun, even if Gage has to tie him to whatever flat surface happens to be handy.

Excerpt:

“Hey.” Luke walked into the kitchen, came up behind Gage, and hugged him.

“Hey babe, glad you’re home.” Gage turned in the arms that held him and returned the hug.

“So am I. It was a really, really long day.” Luke stepped back and loosened his tie. It’d been strangling him for the better part of the day. “Been in meetings for most of the morning, and oh joy, since this was a county wide in-service, we had to dress.”

“I know. I enjoyed listening to you bitch about that very thing this morning while I was trying to get dressed.” Gage tapped the end of Luke’s nose. “But you do look good in a suit. And I so enjoy taking it off you.”

Luke laughed, shaking his head. “You always say that, but I’d rather be in jeans. You like taking those off, too.

“You bet.”

“Perv.”

“You know it.” Gage winked as he turned back to the stove to test the spaghetti sauce. “Was it bad?”

Luke leaned against the counter. “Well, we did get an hour lunch after we returned from the Civic Center. That was the only place big enough for the district. They made us ride a damn school bus over and back. Right after that, we got an hour to work in our room. Then the damn meetings started in the cafeteria. I hate those the worst. I swear my ass is numb from those seats, but we’re finally done with in-service for this month.”

“Poor baby.” Gage held the spoon up to let Luke taste the sauce. “Dinner’s almost ready. You hungry?”

Luke licked the spoon. “Needs a bit more salt.” He rolled his head, trying to pop his neck. His shoulders were tied in knots. “Yeah, I am hungry, but let me unwind for a few first. I’m still too much in school mode to eat right now.”

“Well, then, why don’t you go change clothes?” Gage kissed Luke’s cheek. “Go get comfortable while I finish this. No rush. We’re just going to enjoy ourselves and this weekend.”

“Think I will. Be back in a minute.” Slightly surprised and a little miffed, Luke climbed the stairs. Usually Gage attacked him when he wore a suit. As soon as Gage got it off him, he’d find himself over whatever flat surface was closest.

With a shrug, and with fatigue dragging at him, he pulled off his suit jacket as he entered their bedroom. Throwing it over the treadmill, he unbuttoned his shirt. This was the first night he’d managed to get home on time. With a grateful sigh, he untucked the shirt. He had a long weekend coming, and all he wanted to do was rest and play catch-up with his partner. From what Gage had said, they were on the same page. All he wanted to do was relax, and enjoy.

He couldn’t remember the last time they’d made love. He wasn’t talking about the quick fucks they had lately. Hell, both of them had been too tired to do much else. Luke cringed. Okay, he’d been too tired or too busy. He missed Gage’s touch on his body, the bite of ropes on his wrist, the pinch of a gag.

His body ached with need for what his lover could give him. Luke slipped off his dress shoes and pants. As he undressed, he noticed the pair of night pants on the end of the bed and a folded piece of paper on top.

“Hmm, what’s this?” he mumbled to himself.

As Luke read the note, his body came alive. It looked like his dry spell was over. It also   explained why Gage hadn’t thrown him down on the kitchen table and ripped the suit off him. He had other plans, apparently. Following the instructions, he stripped out of his underwear, slid the cock ring on his awakening shaft, and pulled the night pants up. The instructions were very clear—that was the only clothing he was to wear.

Author bio:

M.A. Church

M.A. Church lives in the southern United States and spent many years in the elementary education sector. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they have two children. Her hobbies are gardening, walking, attending flea markets, watching professional football, racing, and spending time with her family on the lake.

But her most beloved hobby is reading. From an early age, she can remember hunting for books at the library.

My Sexy Saturday

In a new experiment I've joined the Sexy Saturday Crew. Every Saturday we will post seven words, seven sentences or seven paragraphs of pure sexiness.

As this is also my period of promoting the release of my Special Edition of the Enigma books, I will post exclusively from those books until the end of July.

Let's kick off with

My legs are weak and when Silver’s arm goes around my waist I sag against him, resting my head on his chest. He feels so strong, so powerful, and for the first time it is me who feels weak and helpless in his arms.
“What... what does this mean?”
His voice is trembling but it’s not like he trembled last night; it's not because of fear.  I'm trembling too.
I lift my head to look up at him and shake my head, still feeling dazed and powerless. “I don’t know.” I whisper.
He smiles, a hesitant, shy smile that makes me tremble even harder and then he lowers his head and kisses me.
I've read about kisses which stop time; which fade out the world; which stop the heart.  I've always scoffed at the idea.  A kiss is just a kiss... right?  Except a kiss like this.  A kiss like this is all of the above and more.  What makes a kiss like this?  I've no idea.  Maybe it’s knowing I shouldn't be doing it.  Maybe it’s the wild and open setting.  Maybe it’s destiny.

Or maybe it’s just that this kiss - just this kiss out of all the kisses I've ever had -this kiss contains all my feelings; all my emotions; all my fears, hopes and dreams.  This kiss is not taken, or given, it just happens.  This kiss is not a joining of lips but of souls.  This kiss... this kiss... this kiss is with him. Ah fuck what am I doing: what the fuck am I doing?  What have I done?
